Become a Certified Driver Operator 1A, Today!
Description: This course provides the knowledge and skills needed to perform preventive maintenance on and drive or operate a fire apparatus. Topics include routine tests, inspections, and servicing functions; operating, backing, maneuvering, and turning a fire apparatus under a variety of conditions; and operating all fixed systems and equipment on a fire apparatus. The course fulfills the requirements for a Class C driver's license firefighter endorsement.
Please note: All Community Education offerings are considered not-for-credit, which means it does not count toward credited college academic programs.
*Prerequisite Requirement: Firefighter 1 Academy Completion.
Dress Code/PPE: Appropriate dress for class is required. It is the student’s responsibility to maintain a
clean, neat professional appearance. Acceptable dress includes: Your Issued Department Uniform, Helmet, Gloves, Work boots, Eye Protection.
